Components of hardware kits
Controller board is the main component of hardware scanning and repairing tools. You can call them as the workbench on which the failed disk drive will be placed. Hardware restoration and data extraction processes are carried out separately here. The work bench is equipped with data ports, power adapters, standard data cables, USB terminal adapters, company specific adapters for Quantum, Seagate, Western Digital and other companies, multiple pin data cables, safe mode adapters, locking and unlocking tools etc. Each of these components gets connected to the failed disk drive through the controller board. The board itself is connected to a desktop computer, laptop or a special portable terminal provided by the equipment manufacturer into which the OEM software is loaded. SATA cables: – SATA cables come in the form of power cords and data cables. They can be connected to the multiple channels in the disk drives like the Ch-1, Ch-2 and ch-3 modes of power connectivity. Channels 2 and 3 have 10CM power cables while the others have larger size cables. You will be able to find black flat ports on one side which connect to main controller board of the hardware tool / power supply source in the HDD while the white flat port gets connected to the main supplies.

Spindle motor reset unit: – This is an independent unit based on the circular disk that fits into the main work bench of the hardware controller board. The probing knob at the top can be fitted into the HDD spindle motor and turned in the anti-clockwise direction for freeing the stuck head of the spindle motor.
PCB donor kit: – This is an additional tool kit for replacing the PCB ROM firmware content when it gets burnt out. The other options with this tool are replacement of board and chip level components of the PCB. This tool provides compatible donor PCB from which the working condition compatible components are taken out for replacing the defective components in the failed HDD PCB.
